"...dead" said Cyric finishing Rhynan's sentence.
Cyric began to think, what could he do to hurt Anon? Anon was dead, he couldn't possibly hurt him...he would just regain his strength again by feasting on his victim.

He heeded Anon's warning about attacking him again. "What is there to do?" he thought to himself.

[Alec]

Alec ignored the tone in Niran's voice; now wasn't the time to bicker. Though, he wasn't the bickering type anyway.

"No... We're not going to do that. We'll find another way..."

Tristan, Trevor, and Jessica didn't know what to do. They agreed with Alec, so they withheld their attacks and stood their ground.



Anon was assaulted by Sifer and Drinzo, but with Rhynan nearby, they weren't able to make worthy hits. (-21 Hp) Erin wasn't able to find a safe opening without hurting their comrade, so she wasn't able to make a strike. Seth healed the poor boy, but the amount restored wasn't likely to stay.

The battle was at a standstill. No one but Niran seemed willing to continue the fight, despite the hostage. This silence could go on forever, but...

There really was silence outside. Before, the group could hear a cacophony of noises from all the creatures. Now, there was nothing. It's as if they all disappeared... Or as if they were waiting for something.

From the seeming emptiness came the sound of chains. They had a surreal echo to them, one that chilled the bones. The room seemed to darken a little, although everyone's vision remained the same, and the room began to feel icy-cold.

Something emerged right through the wall. The tall, cloaked being paused as it made its appearance; it was as if it was allowing the group to fully understand what was there. The chains that were heard could be seen hanging from its arms and hidden legs. Decrepit black wings hung from its back, with an almost skeletal appearance. A scythe was held in its hand, the words "No one can escape time. It delivers us all to the same end." inscribed into the blade. Finally, a black crown adorned an empty white face, with what appeared to be a smile that wasn't a smile.

It was obvious that this was a Reaper. It may not have the appearance of the stereotypical one that everyone knew, but it was definitely a Reaper...

sifer erin drinzo seth were completly at a loss for once nobody could think of anything to do and this stranger seemed to have an aura of great power so they stayed away and hoped nobody enraged this being

Cyric stared at this new enemy, inside he felt scared, but he couldn't let the reaper sense this feeling, or anyone else for that matter.

He said nothing, he thought nothing, just stared at the reaper, frozen. He feared he could do nothing.

[The Skylark]

Rhynan stared at Anon's face, uncomprehending for a minute.

Then he remembered. It all came rushing back- all the pain, all the pity, all the self-hatred he had bottled up and strove to forget...

"...Bram?"

Heedless of the pain, of the claws in his flesh, Rhynan moved closer, examining the face in detail. Though Anon had endured worse changes than Rhynan, the Darkbringer could still see his one-time lover clearly.

"..."

Rhynan looked away. All he had locked away came back to him in a rush. It hurt, but...suddenly he could see more clearly.

"...I understand. Even if you don't know who you are, even if you don't know why you're doing this...I do."

Rhynan bowed his head in front of Anon and spoke quietly, all of his earlier aggression gone.

"I came here to die anyway, for what I did to you. So...it might as well be you who kills me."

Rhynan gently rubbed the choker he had given Bram so long ago....

[note: Rhynan completely misses the presence of the Reaper, due to the whole claws in his leg thing xP]

Alex dealt a simple three-card spread. He lay out each card, then flipped the first one over.

The Moon.

He looked up and noted the pale stream of moonlight. He smiled slightly and flipped over the next card.

The Tower.

Alex frowned, and looked around. His cards usually never came close to predicting anything, but...He looked up and around, but all he saw was the strange couple, intertwined in a strange, torturous embrace. He flipped over the last card, troubled.

Death.

Alex shivered, and collected his cards before turning around. He knew what he would see; he felt it.

The Reaper.

Feeling a sort of superstitious awe, Alex walked up slowly in front of it.

I can't imagine anything I could do that would protect me, or harm it...so what do we do?

"Are you here to kill us? You're not from Seuss, are you?"

"..."

Don't hurt me. Alex thought on the sameness of pain and pleasure, and shook his head.

[Of Pain] The Prophet suffers with the enemy...or does his enemy suffer with him? In the next turn, any opponent dealing damage will take the same amount as the Prophet. {Sp: 30}

James felt the Reaper walk in. It was like the Reaper held all of James' powers...James doubted that he would be able to harm the Reaper with any of his usual spells...but at least he was currently invulnerable to dark attacks...

"I doubt this will work, but..." James shrugged, looked at Yannick, and reached his hand and mind towards the Reaper.

[Soul Switcher] The Enthraller switches his max Hp with another's max Hp, ally or enemy. {Sp: 80}

[Bramwell]

The boy he held captive suddenly started to spout strange nonsense that was of a worry to the undead 'youth'. He spoke with familiarity, as though he remembered Anon, a sense of emotion crept into the boy's gentle tones and despite the obvious pain he felt, he made an advance, stroking the choker around Anon's neck. The same sensation as bile rising in his stomach overcame Anon, a sick feeling of something passed. The closest he would ever get to panicked, he yanked his claws from the boys leg and with some degree of force pushed him away. The very thought of his touch made Anonymous dizzy with pain.

"Get away from me!!"

He yelled, clamping his hands over his ears so he would no longer hear the torturous words of Rhynan, the very idea of remembering something filling him with almost a physical pain.

"I don't know who you are. Leave me alone!?!?!"

Niran's attention turned from Alec to the strange being the entered the room. The air turned chill and almost everybody fell silent as they stared at whatever it was the entered. For a moment it took his breath away, it's very presence enough to make even the most seasoned of warrior cower in fear.

"What...is that?"

He finally whispered softly to their self appointed leader, expecting him to have the answer. Yannick too had to ask question, frightened almost to death by the creature he somehow managed to restrain himself and relatively stand his ground.

"J-James? What is that?"

The Necromancer was casting a spell, but despite this the little emo reached out and grabbed James' hand for support. Of course James wasn't intimidated he dealt with death all of the time, but Yannick was rightly quite scared of what was before them. For the moment too unsure on what he should do, he just clenched James' hand hard and made a fist of his other hand.

Bandor and Hanson both fell over on their a**es when they saw the uber powerfull being walk THROUGH THE WALL and started babiling insane nonsense. Mark had witnessed this kind of being before but this one was not his master so he turned his head from it

[Alec]

"... It's Death." Alec said, almost plainly; there was only a slight edge to his voice. He was trying to stay calm, despite the situation. He could sense the power of the being...energy was practically oozing from it.

He honestly didn't know what to do at this point. Everything so far had gone wrong, and things kept getting worse. It kinda made him want to give up, but he wouldn't allow that to happen.

He tried thinking of a way out of this, but could find none.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" I don't think it even needs to be said who the scream came from at this point. "What IS that thing!?! This place gets creepier every second we SPEND here!"

The other two sighed at the outburst, seeing as this wasn't the time to be acting ridiculous.



Anon was molested by the power of affection, dealing him 9999 damage. (j/k. xD) In all seriousness, it only had a stifling effect on him. Alex and James prepared their skills, but James' had no effect.

The Reaper then spoke, but it was as if someone else was controlling the words. "You foolish people..." The voice was loud and powerful, while its lips did not move. "What purpose does fighting serve? You may as well lay down and die already. There is no hope for you. You are outnumbered... Overpowered... Surrounded..."

"Your world is in shambles, and the people of Earth are far too scattered. Even those of you who band together are useless; you cannot even work together to accomplish a simple goal." It paused for a moment, as if to give more impact to what it said next. "I waited. I gave you all the chance to work as one, without the need to argue amongst yourselves. I figured, 'if they work as one, I'll let them live. Perhaps they can restore my hope in humanity.' But, as I expected, you all failed. While some of you were willing, with good intentions, the others made your efforts crumble to naught. Their heads were in the wrong places; their reasons for being here were the wrong reasons. And when part of an apple rots, you may as well throw away the whole thing..."

"So, that is what I am going to do. I am going to dispose of the rotting apple. Your group, which couldn't even decide on a name, will not live to see another day. I am sorry to say, but only mildly sorry, that all of you will become limp by this blade." And with that, his speech was over. Now, the real fight would begin... Well, if you could even consider it a fight.

Alex looked up at Death, at the Thirteenth Arcana, and thought...

I'm not afraid to die...but it may not be necessary at the moment. I doubt he'll listen to reason, but it's not like those attacks will do any good...

Alex looked directly at the Reaper and spoke. "I could ask similar things of you...You sit in judgement, here. But you are not Judgement, are you? You are not impartial- you merely have command of a certain aspect of this world. Why are you on one side or another, then? Death comes to all who wait- you need not rush nor slow down in your work. Do you really enjoy it so much as to pervert your true purpose?"

Alex didn't really know if this actually was the personification of Death, or just an ultra-powerful Seussical creature that believed it was Death, but either way...

James sighed. He didn't think his spell would have had any effect, but it didn't hurt to be sure. There was no way he, or most likely anyone else here, could destroy this being. He frowned deeply.

"J-James? What is that?"

James shook his head.

"Yannick...we need to leave. Now."

James looked around. The main doors were blocked, but the building was labyrinthine...if he could just open another door...

He closed his eyes and reached though his staff, pulling at the earth.

Break down a wall...any wall that leads to another corridor. Help us escape, commanded James.

As the giant coalesced, James looked at Yannick and whispered to the boy.

"...Thank you..." He shook his head.

"When the way is open, hurry. I shall be behind you. We may be able to find something to help us."

Rhynan, pushed away from Anon, ran back to him heedless of the danger.

"You don't remember? I'll remember for you! Your name is Bram! You're a year or two older than me. We met in the ruins of Disneyland. You- I-" Rhynan was crying now, but it didn't stop him from talking and trying to reach what had been the boy he loved.

"I lost my virginity to you there. And I found that choker and gave it to you." Rhynan wiped his face clean with the tattered arm of his shirt.

"Do you remember how you died? We were at the Space Needle, and we both jumped off...I flew away, and you didn't want to fly with me. So you fell."

Rhynan moved even closer to Anon, Rhynan's nose below Anon, a few inches apart.

"It was my fault. That's why I'm like this. That's why I'm worthless."

Rhynan looked up into Bram's eyes for a long moment, and then ran across the room. Ignoring the people and the dark figure in the middle of the room, Rhynan ducked his way through the hole in the wall created by the giant and ran through dark corridors until he had lost himself.

Cyric looked on as this chaos in the room unfolded, he finally came back to realization, that a new dangerous enemy had came in his, and everyone else's way.

He Shot a couple of arrows at the reaper, to see if this would do ANY damage to the being at all...it didn't seem like it did. Cyric had to think quickly, as this wasn't a battle that would be slow paced.

[Bramwell]

Suddenly filled with bravado, despite everyone else's fears, Niran grinned and readied himself. Fists up he took a fake swing in the air and laughed.

"I'm going to rip your face off. That creepy smile of yours will make a great trophy for Travis!!"

It was almost as though he hadn't heard the words of judgement from the creature and with a somewhat suicidal initiative he threw himself at the creature

[Icy Punch] The Fighter’s fist becomes water element as he punches the enemy. {Sp: 20}

"I--"

Yannick was going to argue the point with James, but knew that now really wasn't the time. He didn't want to leave James behind but staying here longer than necessary would only cause chaos. Somewhat reluctant he let go of his friend and made for the huge opening that the giant had created in the wall, but stopped not too far in, he wasn't going to run away alone.

What Rhynan said hit Anon hard, though most of it little more than incoherent sobs, the idea of his death hit him hardest. A flash, no a blur of something came back to him, a streak of scenery rushing faster than his mind could keep up with. A sickening pulse rushed through him as grey filled his vision...a memory of death? Shaking off the agony he looked around to see that the young man had gone, but now a new ally had arrived, a Reaper. How apt, he though silently to himself.

"...Shall I kill the one's who ran?"

He asked solemnly of the dark figure. Two of the boy's had already made to escape and one had been so foolish as to not completely make for the exit.

[Alec]

Alec didn't even bother arguing with the Reaper; he knew the "all-for-one" rule all too well to start complaining about it not being fair. Because he tried. He really did try to make this work. But that's not as if he'd be okay with letting everyone else drop down and die.

He took note of the wall breaking down behind him. If we must run, we must run... Fleeing isn't a cowardly tactic, at least in this case. "Everyone, fall back further into the building! I'll try and hold the two off, as best I can..."

He slowly began to back up towards the opening, but he would not leave until everyone else was safe.

Tristan followed Alec's 'orders' and moved on back. He was willing to listen to him; besides, this enemy seemed too strong. The only logical path would be to retreat.

Both Trevor and Jessica reluctantly fell back. The blonde went all the way, but Trevor stopped by Alec. "Dude, I'm not leaving ya behind. It's just not right to let you do all the work against this guy. Besides... I'll miss all the action." He gave a wink, then turned back to the Reaper in his fighting stance. Alec only replied with a light smile, but one with a grim touch to it.



The Reaper snatched Bandor's card right out of the air as it was flung at him. With a flash of pink light and a shatter, the card was crushed by its claws. [Immune to charm] Once summoned, Mark's spirits flew around the Reaper. But in a flurry they were gone; the Reaper had banished them back to where they came from. [Immune to paralysis] Lightning then erupted around the Reaper, but it had no effect. [Immune to magic]

Sifer and Erin also assaulted the Reaper with a spell, and they too were nulled. Drinzo flung himself at it, being the first to get that close, but his sword went right through. [Immune to physical attacks] But, as a plus, Rhynan was successfully healed.

James summoned a giant to bust down a wall behind them. It was kinda useless, since there was already a door behind them, but it's understandable that it would go unnoticed due to their position.

Both Cyric and Niran's attacks fell useless, too...

The Reaper gave out a low laugh, seeming mildly amused at the group's attempts to harm him. "What pointless creatures you are... Can you not tell that you cannot harm me? What use does it do you to fight? Spare yourselves the effort to find my weakness... I will tell you this once: I have none. You will find all your attempts made in vain. "

"Do as you please..." The Reaper finally said in response to Anon. "Regardless of what you do, they will all die."

The Reaper did not attack...yet. And why should he? He had plenty of time to dispose of the ill-fated group...
